Get off me, Mr. President

Not a lot to report since my last offering, and I apologise. I've been working. Not much of an excuse, I know, but there has been some progress. I've made a start to Chapter 8 of Dearest . . .. That has been put on hold until I work out how I want the argument between Kiara and Jonathon to go. In the meantime, I've also started work on my piece for the December Challenge at the Zoo. I had an idea concerning a cat, now I've just got to see how it turns out.

Very Wet Rain

Finished Chapter 7 of Dearest . . . this weekend, adding another seven hundred words. As it stands however it'll probably lose a lot in the rewrite as there's a disproportionate amount of description in there; it takes Kiara about twelve pages to walk the length of a corridor, and that's never good. I also think the writing's probably a bit lazy as well as it's the first time I've been back to the book in ages. Still, the chapter's finished and that's what counts.

Work's still going fine. Writing's still going slowly. I'm just waiting for my bus now, but I'll try and write a proper update tonight and post it when I come back in tomorrow. Oh, but I can't wait until I get my internet access sorted out at home. It'll make this (and the workshop, and the MLs) so much easier, than my current grab five minutes at the beginning and end of each day.

Tempest has added me to the oww blogs page. Only wish I was updating this thing a little more often to actually make it worthwhile. I'm curious to the reasoning behind her choice of picture, but it's good. The dude looks pretty worse for wear :)

Do you Like to Read? I Just got a Great Book on Tape

Just read the horrorshop newsletter in which it was announced they are to be merging with the zoo in the next month or so. I can't decide whether this is a good or bad thing. I suppose it's good if it means I'll only have to concentrate on one workshop, and there's one less url to remember, but . . . it takes away the horror specific audience for my horror stuff. Opens up the doors to more of those first-crit grabbers who write small reviews for the double points.

I'm not bothered really -- my horror membership will be tacked on to the end of the sff membership, so I'll get another six months -- but I get the impression there are some people who aren't best pleased.
