Man, we just couldn't stop laughing

Well, my parents came up this morning and took all of my stuff away ready for the move back home next weekend. It means that I'll be without a computer for the next seven days (unless I decide I want to walk into campus). It shouldn't harm my writing too much, as I've doing all of that stuff by hand and then typing it up recently. What this does mean however is that I won't have any kind of word count update until I get my computer back and get some form of internet access sorted out.

Last friday (which was the last time I got anything down due to underestimating my packing) I got another 8oo words down for the second rat piece. It is almost finished. I can feel the end of this story and I know that I may only have another paragraph or two to write. The trouble is . . . I was thinking about the story whilst walking into town the other day and I now know that there is another--better--way of telling it. I'll probably end up chopping most of it in the rewrite. Never mind.

It looks like the first rat piece is going to be scrapped altogether. It wasn't that good a story in the first place and now I feel that it never will be. It also looks like neither will be workshopped (it's the 9th of June already!).

Going back home in a minute to write those last paragraphs.

Later . . .
